Yey, yey, yey! I am so very excited to be writing up this post. So, a couple of weeks ago, I posted a quick round up of Monthly Make Up Boxes & Deals That Rock. Today, lucky ducky me gets to totally brag and share the contents I received from one of the boxes on that list (don’t be jelly – deets on how you can get in on this action below with a coupon). Ready for some beauty box fun?
If you aren’t already familiar with the fabulous Beautycon Box, it is a seasonal subscription curated by a different content creator each season – Bunny Meyer (grav3yardgirl), Kandee Johnson, Bethany Mota, MakeupShayla and Angel Merino (MAC_Daddyy), and Dulce Candy have all curated boxes. With more than $150 retail value in each, the Beautycon Box is the must have for any beauty lover. Seasonal subscriptions start at $29 / billed four times per year. Get the box BONUS! Get $5 bucks off now through March 1st with code KIDDOWINTER. Expires 3/1/17.
And, it doesn’t just stop at subscription boxes. This mega brand also hosts BeautyconFestival (with current dates set in NY on May 20, 2017 and in LA on August 12th and 13th, 2017) and BeautyconDigital (Um, we’re talking more than 5 million monthly views and 2 billion social impressions to date). With profiles in The New York Times, Fast Company, Mashable, Digiday, MTV, THR, The New Yorker, Inc.com and Bustle they are pretty much a beauty powerhouse. I heart them. And, I heart this subscription box.
WHAT WAS IN MY BOX
First impressions are everything. And, Beautycon had a great one which is no surprise. From the really fun outer packaging (which got slightly damaged in shipping, wah) to the “educational” interior (thanks for the tips!). They nailed it.
And, they didn’t skimp on the goodies. It was filled to the brim with presents for your eyes, lips, skin and face. I just love presents.
The Skinvolve Body Karate Cream was a FULL SIZE, 8 oz product. I want to say it smells awesome (and I’m sure it does) but I have a head cold and can’t smell a thing. Body Karate Cream, a daily lotion with a kick! Blended with Pure Caffeine and Argan Oil to moisturize, improve skin texture and tone. Can’t wait to rub caffeine on my thighs while drinking caffeine. I’m gonna be a maniac. Find it: HERE for $39.99
Next up: Kate Somerville – ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment. ”The Hollywood 2-minute facial.” Exfoliate and polish skin with ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment to reveal a glowing, fresh-from-the-clinic complexion. I so desperately want to try this, but sadly can’t use it because I have the most sensative skin on the planet and I’d probably exfoliate my entire face off. You could try it though! This tube came in .5 oz which retails for $24 bucks. Find it: HERE
I also received this Diamond Glow Powder (in Illumniati) from Artist Couture. This shimmering powder packs a high glow with a light silver and champagne iridescence, suitable only for true glow getters! You can use this powder on your face, eyes, lips or pretty much anywhere on your body. I’m putting it on all of those places. Find yours: HERE for $26.99
Can we just take two seconds to talk about the name of this lipstick? Lippie Stix. Love it. Wanna put it on my lips and marry it. I received the Lippie Stix in Beautycon Pink by Colourpop and I have hidden it away from my maniac 3 year old who thinks “lipstack” get’s applied to the entire face. I’m pretty sure the Beautycon pink is an exclusive for the box, but you can find other awesome shades: HERE for $5 bucks
I have to say that I like the brand mix in the Beautycon box. It’s nice to have some higher priced brands and some that you can snag right at your grocery store or your local Target. Cue this Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water: .A multi-purpose cleanser that contains Micellar technology. Like a magnet, micelles capture and lift away dirt, oil and makeup without harsh rubbing, leaving skin perfectly clean, hydrated and refreshed without over-drying. I think I’m going to give this cleansing water a try. It says it’s good for all skin types (even sensative) so I’m going to put it to the test. I’ll let you know what happens! Find it: HERE for $3.49
Um, I LOVE, LOVE this Luxie Tapered Highlighter brush. A testament to cruelty-free and vegan beauty, this Luxie highlighting brush features a sleek pink handle and rose gold ferrule. It is SO soft I just want to rub it on my face all day long. Find it: HERE for $24 bucks.
Another awesome addition to this box (and local Target buy) are this Loreal Paris Voluminous Feline Waterproof Instat Volume Full Lash Mascara (HERE for $7.99) and corresponding Voluminous Primer Base (HERE for $5.99). The second I saw these bad boys, I snapped a quick pic and immediately applied them to my sad little lashes . And, I’m obsessed because I look like a movie star now. I’ll be signing autographs all day.
Next up? Bronzer. I do so love Too Faced products and was stoked to get this Chocolate Soleil Medium/Deep Matte Bronzer. It made me realize how badly I want warm weather back in my life. Oh, Summer, wherefore art thou? If you can hear me, please send a sign you will be here soon.
I received the .08 oz size in the box, which is valued at $7.99 – but I don’t think you can grab that size for sale. You can grab the full size version HERE for $30.
Biobelle Botanic Fiber Facial Mask #afterparty. How cute is this packaging? I won’t lie. It makes me want to eat things. Biobelle’s Award-winning Tencel fiber adheres perfectly to every facial contour, like a second skin, and delivers the antioxidants faster and deeper than if you just applied a cream or serum. You can grab individual packs like this HERE for $4.99 a pop. If you’re looking for #afterparty, you can purchase it HERE in a 6-pack bundle for $26.95.
As I was finishing up this post, I happened to shake the box around and realized I TOTALLY missed this The Only 1 Surprise Lipcolor by Rimmel London. This color is a standout. Seriously. I have no clue if I can pull it off, but I’m going to give it the ol’ college try and hope I don’t look like an almost 40 year old giving it the ol’ college try 🙂 Find it: HERE for $6.99
One last thang. I told you this box was filled with awesome stuff! Beautycon included a coupon code to use at Ali & Jay ($50 off when you spend $100). I have never shopped here, but I did some quick perusing and they have some adorable dresses. Most of them would’ve probably fit me best when I was an infant…but I’m working on operation hot bod by 40 and the coupon doesn’t expire until June, so I’m going to pin it to my motivation board.
