I’m typing up this post with the biggest smile on my face. There are also little hearts dancing around my head and old-timey love songs billowing throughout my house. I am in sweet honey love with Handmade Hive and want to shout it from the rooftops: HANDMADE HIVE! I LOOOOOOOVE YOU!
Seriously. This is my second delivery of this fabulous box of handmade goodies and I do really, honestly love it (here’s what I got in the first box. It was all about Coffee…OMG).
Both times I opened the box I pulled out every item with an “awe”, an “I love this” or a “this is the coolest thing eva”. I have used (or consumed) every single thing from both boxes and have no intentions of sharing or re-gifting any of the stuff I got (that’s not already in my belly obvi).
Okay, let’s dive in because I so desperately want to brag about these goodies.

Can we just start by saying how incredible Courtney (the fab lady who curates and runs this boxity) is? I mean, she has a great eye for handmade and knows how to put a themed box together that is not only filled with totally unique stuff, but stuff that can (and will) be made daily life staples!
The May box theme was Down to Earth. My most favorite item in this box was this adorable Hand Screen-Printed “Beet It” Dish Towel from The Neighborgoods (D.C.).
The colors screamed everything I love so much and I’m a total sucker for anything that has a funny phrase on it. Plus it already matched my decor and other dish towel colors so it’s like it was meant to be. Retail: $18.
Everything in this box is handmade, which means you can see the fine details in every last stitch, color, function and style. The second fave on my list was this Medium Beeswax Wrap from A Touch of Nature (PA). I was recently completely hypnotized by these beeswax wrap thingys on one of those Nifty videos on Facebook, so when I opened up the box and saw this I felt like the world was handing me a small token of appreciation for being so fabulous 🙂 hee-hee.
The best part about these wraps is that they are washable (yes), reuseable (double yes) and compostable (also, yes). If you’re trying to go green in baby steps like me, something like this is a must. Organic certified 100% cotton, 100% Pure Local PA Beeswax, Tree Rosin, Organic Jojoba Oil & Organic Coconut Oil.
We received the Medium size (10 x 8″) and it’s perf for covering small bowls, sandwhiches, cheese, fruit, veggies and more! It’s really fantastic and a great way to ditch the naughty stuff and do something greener. And, also they’re adorable. And, totally addicting. Retail: $5.95.
Next fave (I mean they are all my faves, let’s get real) was this Herb Garden Seed Kit from Decker Road Seeds (OR).
Let’s start with the fact that this is an entire mini herb kit that came in the box. I feel like this entire kit could be a box all it’s own! I absolutely cannot wait to plant and grow these herbs with my little lady. Something must be in the water this summer because I’m planting and growing things like it’s my j-o-b. And, the plants arn’t screaming when they see me, so I must be doing something right. OBsessed. Retail: $18.75.
And, since my backyard is santuary for bugs all over the land, this Combat Ready Bug Repellent from Skincando (MD) was the most welcome addition. I had actually been on the hunt for something safe for our skin. A powerful botanical bug spray made with natural ingredients. Originally used by U.S. Troops overseas to repel mosquitos, sand fleas and other biting insects. I haven’t tested it’s ability to repel yet, but I did give it a couple of sprays on my arm and it smells like bug spray that’s trying to be fancy. And, I love that. Retail: $17 bucks.
Last but not least was this beautiful Robin Egg Greeting Card from Go Carr Go (PA). I love having blank cards on hand but this one is so purty it might have to sit on my shelf for a while. Retail: $4.50

It’s legit. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the June Box. Until then, I’m going to write a million love notes and fold them into fun shapes and send them to Courtney because she’s the awesomest. Tootles!
