Ughhhhhh. Guys, I’m on the struggle bus. Life has me so off my game and it’s totally affecting my healthy and fit self. All of my body parts are so sad right now, because although I legit never, ever sit down (well, at least not until around 8 or 8 30pm every night), I cannot find the time to get my workouts in. And, I mean, although there are a million and one things in the way (sickness, toddler that never sleeps, etc.), I could totally find 20 minutes per day to make it happen. Truth is I just haven’t. Last week I was all gung-ho, and this week? And then I got sick and noone slept and the motivation dissapeared because…exhausted.
The good news is – I’m no quitter. Whenever I have moments like this in my life where I’m totally sucking at being healthy, I come back with a vengeance. I just gotta find my mojo.
And, when it comes to finding my “oomph” (let’s be honest, it’s probably in the kitchen eating something naughty), little reminders help – I find it on social media (what up Monday motivation quotes), when I look into my sweet little three year olds eyes, and when I got awesome boxes that remind me to get my head out of my you-know-where, find my kicks, and sweat it out.

THE GOOD STUFF
So, I’ve been getting this box for a while now (here’s all the other posts if you’re so inclined) and as I mentioned above, they legit motivate me. This year (2017) has been my worst year yet as far as work out and health motivation. BUT, that’s about to change – WOOOOOOT!
This month’s theme was “Summer of Gainz”. And, all the goodies showcased in the insert below were modeled by Jacob Heighes, who’s a super dope CrossFit athlete, and also not difficult to look at (just sayin’).
This was one of my most FAVORITE Gainz Boxes yet, and I’ll be honest, it’s because it included fun stuff to taste! Sweet rewards that are healthy, packed with protein and of course consumed in moderation, are my jam when I’m on a health kick. The timing couldn’t be more perfect!
Let’s start with this Double Chocolate Protein Cookie & Baking Mix by Flap Jacked. I was STOKED to see this in the box and cannot wait to make them and eat them all in one sitting. JUST KIDDING. I will eat them in moderation as per the serving suggestion and in accordance with not being a ravenous bear. Ten grams of protein per serving (2 cookies), no GMOs and no artificial ingredients. Retail: $6.99 Sold.
I love that each box typically comes with some type of apparel – I’ve received leggings, bootie shorts, tanks and now this “muscle tank” (because obviously, I’m incredibly muscular and have zero flabs anywhere). Anyway – I’m not a huge fan of the logos on them for regular wear, but I do love sporting these for my workouts. And, the quality of all the pieces I’ve received so far are great. This WORKT Muscle Tank is super soft and nifty. Retail: $29.95.
Oh, hey there Halo Top Ice Cream, wanna get married or somethin’? LOVE me some Halo Top ice cream. This box included a golden ticket for a free pint, which I thought was super awesome and totally fun. I’ve had this brand before, and am stoked to try the RED VELVET (yup, totes screamed that) which my hubby picked up while at the g-store today. And, I mean the fact that you can legit eat the whole entire pint without the added guilt (360 calories / 20 grams of protein per pint)? Perfection. Retail: $6.99.
Who’s ready for some socks? Me, I’m always ready for socks. I’ll be honest that I’ve never worn socks like this to work out in (I’m an ankle sock girl myself), but I will definitely wear these red, white and blue fancies when the seasons start to change and I’m therefore always freezing. These Fuel Socks are valued at $15 bucks.
And, BONUS – Fuel has an amazing program called “Sock Karma” (which is a monthly subscription) – you choose the number of socks (i.e. two) you get each month and they match and donate the same quantity to a local homeless shelter each month. Absolutely love it!
The last yummy treat (well, I should say “treats” because there were multiple) were these packets of Organic Nuttzo Power Fuel 2Go (I received the Power Fuel and the Chocolate Peanut Pro flavors).
It’s a medley of seven organic nuts and seeds, comes in different flavors and different textures (crunchy or smooth). Love finding new nut butter spreads! Def, excited to try these out. Retail around $14 bucks for a pack of 10.
Last, but not least were these Special Edition Gainz Box Wrist Wraps valued at $25 bucks. So, I’m gonna be straight up honest. I will never, ever use these. I don’t think I’ve ever worn a wrist wrap, except for maybe once when it was the 80’s and I was trying to pretend I was a break dancer.
I bet though, that these are awesome in the CrossFit arena, so I’m going to ask one of my CrossFit peeps if they’re interested in taking them off my wrists for me (ha ha…get it, “take off my hands” was switched to “take of my wrists”….ba-dum-dum).
Monthly boxes start at $32 per month (plus $6 bucks shipping), but you can save money by getting a 3 month subscription for $31, a 6 month for $32 or a 12 month for $29. Don’t forget to add $6 on top of that to cover shipping costs. Get the box Bonus! Enter GZ10 at checkout to get 10% off!
MY NEW FITNESS GOALS
Alright. So, at the beginning of this post I was like “wahhhhh. No sleep. Sniffles. wahhhhhh”, but now I’m all about setting some fitness goals (like, actually legit ones) and accomplishing them. Baby steps peeps, baby steps.
- Actually work out (at least 30 min per day, excluding my normal running all over the place chasing 3 yo)
- Actually eat healthy (Rewards are cool, only if I accomplish #1 above, and also only in moderation and if of the healthy(ish) variety)
- Actually drink water (this might kill me. But, I can do it)
- Stay the course (I’ve got this)
What are your fitness goals? Are you struggling or do you got it in the bag (if so, please share all of your secrets so I can crush my goals too. Pa-lease and thank you). Okay, byeeeeeeeeee!
