I received this box for free in exchange for my honest opinion.
Um, I’m on a posting tear today guys! I should get sick more often! Just kidding…I have a toddler in preschool so we basically live in a petri dish. Once the Summer bids us adieu, one of us is sick every other week. The good news is that apparently I’m a super-duper blog posting maniac when I’m sick, so there’s going to be tons of fun stuff to check out on the bloggity blog this week. YEY!
Okay – let’s talk Influenster. I’m a bit behind in sharing my latest Influenster deliveries, but better late than never. If you want to know more about these guys, check out this post – I share everything you need to know about this awesome product discovery community – aka free products to try as long as you agree to post your honest review on their site (and if you choose, social media).
This post includes a video unboxing of my 2nd VoxBox (that’s what they call the boxes of stuff you get to try).
Here’s what’s in my testing lab now (that’s fancy-talk for my house…the one that’s a disaster because I have a toddler and two kittens).
A few weeks ago…okay, fine probably a month ago, I got the Harvest Voxbox and it was filled with stuff! Here are my thoughts and links to grab said stuff if you wanna give em’ a try yourself – most are available at Target.
EVANYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer – This product is supposed to do it all (well, 10 things) – detangling, nourishing, strengthening, softening, dry your hair faster, add shine, reduce frizz, and protect against damage. I will probably notice more of these benefits over time, but I can attest to delicious smell, soft hair, frizz reduction and detangling. I noticed all of these with first use and intend to add this to my EVANYC product lineup (I have tested their other products in the Darling Voxbox and Shimmer Voxbox and heart them so)! I also got a coupon for $3 off at Target and other retailers!
Tree Hut 24-hour Intense Hydrating Shea Body Butter – Fifty million years ago, I received a scrub from this brand and it was incredible. This is an intensely moisturizing, clinically tested product for skin hydration. Organic Shea Butter and Coconut / Lime Extracts – Applies super silky and smells like Tahiti.
I received two packages of Gain Botanicals Plant Based Detergent (White Tea & Lavender and Orange Blossom Vanilla). These are made from 65% Plant Based Ingredients (a USDA certified biobased product), are free of dyes, phosphates, optical brighteners and MEA and supposed to be gentle on the skin. I couldn’t find anything online at the EWG site or any others that have reviewed this product for its health benefits for your body or the environment. I think its super new. We washed 2 loads with it and thought it smelled great, washed our clothes well, and if its better for our bodies and environment? Even better. We also got a coupon for $1.00 off one at Target.
Vera Wang Embrace Perfume in Green Tea & Pear Blossom. I tried two other scent variations of this in another Voxbox and was not a fan. This though? I really enjoyed this. Not sure if I would buy it for myself, but it was light and summery and reminded me of warmer times 🙂
Lastly, we received a VIP Coupon so we could try a Cole’s Middles product for FREE! I didn’t find this product in my local grocery store, and just did an online search to see if they were even available in my area. Apparently, they are in fact in some Walmart stores in my area, so if I find em’, I’ll update the post!
L’OREAL PARIS NEW ELVIVE
All of the VoxBoxes I’ve received so far have been filled with multiple products from different brands. But, I just received my first brand-specific box – this one from L’OREAL! PS, Influenster sends a lot of brand specific boxes, where you get a bunch of stuff or one specific product to try from a specific brand. And, it’s not just small stuff – I’ve seen other members get Hollister Jeans and even a Keurig!
Anyway – In this box, they sent me a full-size tub of L’OREAL ELVIVE Color Vibrancy Repair & Protect Balm. This is a rinse out hair mask designed to repair and protect your damaged, dry hair (which I have a ton of). It also is supposed to preserve color vibrancy – which I need because I home color my hair to cover up an unfavorable amount of grey these days.
The cool thing about this particular product is that I don’t think its on the market yet! I got a note that said Thank You for being one of the first few to try Elvive. And, I can’t find it anywhere online, so it looks like this product is to come. How fun!
I tried this for the first time today, and thankfully because I was in the shower, my stuffy nose cleared up enough so I could smell it. The consistency is buttery and applies like silk. I left it on for around 3 minutes like they said (and shaved my legs in between, high five to me). It rinsed well, and my hair was insanely soft immediately following the rinse. If I’m honest, it felt a bit oily when I was blowdrying and after I had finished blow drying it was a bit heavier at the root than I normally like. In its defense I loaded up my hair with this stuff, so I could and should probably back off and use less next time.
All in all I liked it! But, I didn’t notice any immediate benefits. I’ll keep you posted if there are any additional benefits or downsides to this product.
